Meet Our Team
William Michael Bandy
CPA MTX
Michael Bandy, CPA is the President and CEO of Michael Bandy & Associates. A native of Tazewell County, he has practiced public accounting as a CPA since 2001. He also has a master’s degree in taxation from Old Dominion University and a Ph.D. in Leadership (Emphasis in Business) from the University of the Cumberlands. He works with small businesses, individuals, and fiduciaries with their tax planning and reporting. He also consults with small businesses, helping them determine what does and does not work in their business and how they can make their business better.
Michael and his wife, Misty, love being involved with the community. They coached youth soccer at the Rec league and high school level here in Richlands for nearly twenty years. Michael also teaches tax, accounting, and business courses at Bluefield University. Whether in business or in life, it is our goal and desire to see everyone succeed to the utmost level of their abilities.
Misty Bandy
CFO
Misty Bandy joined the Michael Bandy & Associates team in February 2019. Her role in the firm includes acting as the Chief Financial Officer, Human Resource Manager, Staff Accountant, and Small Business Advisor. She came to the firm with experience in insurance, accounting, business management, and small business entrepreneurship.
Misty holds associate degrees in Accounting and Business Management, a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership, and a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in finance. She has also been a licensed Property & Casualty, as well as Life & Health, insurance agent in the state of Virginia for 25 years.
Along with her husband Mike, they own three small businesses in Southwest Virginia and have a heart to see other small business owners achieve their dreams. Misty and Mike enjoy traveling to different locations and learning more about what other regions have done to support and inspire their small business entrepreneurs. Together, they believe there is a lesson to gain from every place you go, every person you meet, and every challenge you face.
Rhonda Nease

I was born and raised in Richlands Virginia. I graduated from Richlands High School and attended SWVA Community College. I have been married to Gary Nease a local contractor for 40 years. I attend Claypool Hill Church of Christ in Pounding Mill, VA.
My career in accounting started in 1980 with Robert G. Shepherd CPA. After Mr. Shepherd retired in 2003 Michael Bandy purchased the firm and I continued my career with him. It is a rewarding profession and I enjoy helping our clients with all their accounting needs. Our clients become like family and good friends.

JG Keene
Staff Accountant
As the newest member of Michael Bandy & Associates, JG Keene brings experience from multiple fields, such as Sales, Marketing, Graphic Design, and Web Development. JG is a Tazewell County native and received his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and Communications from Bluefield University. At BU, JG was a member of the Men’s Soccer program, and he is currently pursuing a master’s in business leadership from his alma mater, Bluefield University. Alongside working full-time with MBA, JG works part-time with First Media Services out of Bluefield, WV, and even runs his own Graphic Design/Web Development company.
